Hull to Hornsea
The original proposal for a railway from Hull to Hornsea was by George Hudson's York and North Midland Railway. This line was to be a branch of the Hull to Bridlington line near Arram just north of Beverley. This scheme came to nothing.
The next proposal was for a branch from Wilmington station on the Hull Holderness Railway. This was passed by Parliament in 1862 and the line officially opened in 1864.
Following the Beeching Report, the line closed on 19th October 1964 - the same day as the Hull Withernsea line.
Goods traffic to Hornsea Bridge lingered on until 1965.
