DRIFFIELD TO MALTON (The Malton Dodger)

Services commenced on 1st June 1853
In 1854 the Malton & Driffield Railway became part of the North Eastern Railway.
1902 was the busiest year for the line with four return passenger and four return goods trains per day.
In 1920 the Wharram chalk trains for Teesside began.
The passenger service was withdrawn in1950 although seasonal holiday specials ran until 1958.
In 1955 Burdale quarry closed, only the twice weekly goods pickup ran until
final closure in 1958.
